Pittsburgh prices rose nearly 10 cents in one week

Gas is back above $4 per gallon as fighting resumes in the Middle East. In Pittsburgh, gas was $4.19 last week and is $4.27 currently.
The Associated Press spoke to Jacob Fisher, a Chicago resident buying gas, who said fuel costs are “terrible” because of the “senseless war in Iran, and our current administration is fueling a lot of this. It is not serving the American people. Nor does it serve anywhere in the entire world.”
A White House spokesperson said that “oil and gas prices will plummet back to pre-conflict levels” and that the president “remains committed to unleashing American energy dominance, cutting costs, and putting more money back in the pockets of hardworking American families.”
On that note, the New York Times reports that the president “is dismantling a wide array of federal energy-efficiency programs at the same time that war in Iran is raising oil prices, climate change is fueling record heat that is driving up demand for air conditioning and new data centers are straining America’s electricity supply.”
Christine Egan, executive director of a nonprofit group that works on efficiency policies said that the “turn away from efficiency has been oddly timed” and that “you’d think we would want our products to be as efficient as possible.”
